Hunting Tourism

The area’s mixed beech and fir forests are home to a variety of wild animals: red deer, roe deer, wild boar, chamois, brown bears, wolves, lynx, foxes, wildcats, pine martens, stone martens, badgers, dormice and hazel grouse. The most sought-after game are red deer, bear, roe deer and wild boar.
In the Municipality of Klana, the hunting association HLD “Zec” manages the open communal hunting ground VIII/121 with an area of 2,494 hectares. Commercial hunting mainly offers woodcock and quail.
The Croatian forests offer a much wider range of commercial hunting, in particular the Klana Forest Administration (state hunting area VIII/21). The Smrekova Draga hunting area, with an area of around 18,000 hectares, covers the Klana, Prezid and Tršće forest regions.
The Klana department manages slightly less than half of this area. The “Suho” hunting lodge provides comfortable accommodation for hunters, and eight enclosed hunting stands ensure maximum comfort.
