The church of St Roch is mentioned as early as the 17th century by Valvasor as a “Filialkirche” (branch church) of the Parish Church of St Jerome. It stands at the entrance to the village by the roadside, typical of churches dedicated to St Roch. According to legend, an image of St Roch prevented the plague from entering Klana. This is why the feast of St. Roch (Rokova) is celebrated on 16 and 17 August with religious, cultural and sporting events in honour of one of Klana’s co-patron saints.
