In the Stara Rebar Forest, you will find a centuries-old road maintenance hut built in the style of an Istrian kažun (traditional stone hut).
Originally used by road workers, the hut now serves as a resting place and refuge for nature lovers and hikers, offering shelter and a picnic area surrounded by the unspoilt beauty of the forest.
„Rebar Hut” has become one of the hiking checkpoints along the marked trail from Klana – Lisac – Pliš – Rebar Hut – Vrh Gore – Gumanačka. It is a favourite picnic destination for all those seeking peace and quiet in the embrace of pure, unspoiled nature.
Above the house are “wheelbarrows” – clearly visible cart tracks in the stone – which testify to the countless amounts of timber transported.
